In this lockdown, when you are not able to go out, “Extraction” gives you enough reasons to sit for two hours on your comfortable couch. It is a well-hyped and much awaited movie and in the current scenario, when hardly any new movie is being released, this will surely draw a great number of views for sure.

When you start watching this movie, do not expect a masterpiece and it will become easier for you to enjoy the journey. Not a very complicated story, good performances and some amazing action sequences will ensure that you are thoroughly engaged.

A lot of Hindi and Bengali have been used in the movie. As I am familiar with both the languages, it turned out alright for me but I am not sure about the experiences of those who don’t understand either of the languages. But hearing Thor: The god of thunder, saying ‘Promaan deyo’ is surely going to be a treat for all the Bengalis out there.

Extraction - Netflix

Chris Hemsworth carried the entire movie on his shoulders and being the executive producer of the movie he had very little scope to go wrong and to that point, he hardly disappoints you throughout the movie. Between both his falls (his first scene and the last scene), he has given a power packed performance.

The kidnapped kid (Rudraksh Jaiswal) shared many scenes with Chris and he successfully managed to stand tall throughout the movie. But the movie does leave you wishing Randeep Huda’s character was a bit better defined. Half of the time you will not be able to decide whether to root for him or not. Moreover, it was a sheer waste to give Pankaj Tripathi such less screen time. It would have been much better to cast him as the Bangladeshi drug lord. He would have made the extraction far more difficult than it seemed at the end.

Sure, the movie does have its flaws but not so much that you start complaining against it. In fact, you should be grateful that in these difficult times it gives you a chance at a good time while you are locked inside your houses.

A good effort at extraction, isn’t it?
