The writer duo of the successful TV series ‘Glee’, Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan have come up with their version of the old Hollywood from the post World war 2 era and have created the TV mini series named ‘Hollywood’ for Netflix.

It’s a story of a few aspiring young actors, writers and directors who are trying everything to get an entry into the illuminating world of Hollywood and are ready to go to all lengths to make it big there.

It’s a wonderful fictional story narrated very well by the creators. It must be seen as a story inspired from Hollywood industry and not as a documentary made on it.

The TV drama as any other successful Hollywood movie story has all the ingredients to make it glamorous and appealing. Good looking cast, well-defined characters, powerful performances, fast-paced story, intelligent screenplay and dialogues, sharp direction, applaudable cinematography and some sensitive issues likes sex-racket, adultery, homosexuality, racism etc. have managed to give the audience a magnificent spectacle for sure.

The creators have used the human emotions like ambition, power, lust, greed, fear, hope, insecurity etc. quite efficiently in the story.

Each actor has done his part with great sincerity and that reflects on the screen. You are with them in their journeys and you can relate with the emotions they are going through and that is enough proof of some convincing acting. You know you have been a part of a well-written and executed story when you find yourself rooting for each of the characters, for their victory in the episode when Oscars are being announced. It will be a crime to not give a special mention to Jim Parsons for playing such a grey role with so many colours. It takes time to see him as anyone else but ‘Sheldon Cooper’ but soon you start appreciating him in the role of Henry Willson.

The series has very well showcased the struggles of the aspiring ones in the showbiz, the torments and triumphs that the black people have gone through in the past, the various repressions of the society, the darker side of the glamorous world and also the goodness of the human heart.

All in all, a well-made series and must be seen by every cinema lover.
