Another masterpiece by TVF. Another superlative performance by Jitender Kumar.

Panchayat is may be one of the best series that are streaming on the various online platforms. It’s a must watch.

Most of the new online series are not continued beyond the first season and of them, there are only a few series where you wait for the next season. Panchayat is one series that deserves many more seasons for sure.

The cast, the story, the plot, the cinematography, the direction, you name the department and you will find that Panchayat has aced all the cards.

After a long time a village has been shown like a village and not like a setup where it’s just utilised to add some flavor to the story. You will fall in love with the simplicity that makes a village special than a city.

Jitender Kumar as Abhishek Tripathi is phenomenal. He is one actor who doesn’t have to try too much to enact in a given situation. Acting comes naturally to him. As a career confused semi urban guy, who is fighting to survive in a completely new rural environment in the village of Phulera and then slowly and slowly becoming an essential part of the structure, is simply commendable. I am not able to imagine any actor of today’s era to live this role better than him. He has already established himself as ‘Jitu bhaiya’ and it doesn’t take long to establish this character for him.

Rahubir Yadav has been one of the most underrated actors in Indian entertainment industry. It’s a shame that we haven’t seen much of his work. His natural ability to become the character itself is something that must be cherished by all. It will be a misfortune to not to see him more on the screen after Panchayat.

Neena Gupta has done what she does best. She demands attention whenever she is in a particular scene. Thank god that after being so many years in the industry she is finally getting established as a powerful artist.

Faisal Malik as Prahlad, the Deputy Pradhan is sublime. He has been a perfect support to Raghubir Yadav and in most of the scenes plays his character perfectly.

For me the most amusing character was of Vikas, Abhishek’s assistant and how brilliantly Chandan Roy has played this character! It’s not easy to mark your presence with such great talents around but he has stood his ground very firmly and has managed to steal the limelight at many instances.

The direction, the storytelling in each episode has been of the highest level and the way every minute detail has been taken care of is highly appreciable.

TVF has given us some quality shows and I sincerely wish that they continue the good work and do not compromise on quality over quantity. Panchayat rightly deserves many more seasons and has the possibility to make each of its characters timeless.
